The Bogalusa City School System has the following employment opportunities for the 2008-2009 school year:

Bogalusa High School: Band Director, Math Teachers, Social Studies Teacher, Foreign Language Teacher.

Bogalusa Middle School: PE Teacher, Choir Teacher, 8th Grade English Teacher (one year only for Sabbatical Leave replacement), Guidance Counselor (one year only for Sabbatical Leave Replacement), Art Teacher, Consumer Science Teacher.

Pleasant Hill Elementary: 5th Grade Teacher.

Northside Elementary: Kindergarten (2 positions), K-3 Technology Facilitator.

Byrd Avenue Elementary: Principal, 1st Grade Teacher, K-3 Technology Facilitator.

Superior Avenue: 1st Grade Teacher (4 positions), Kindergarten Teacher, 2nd Grade Teacher, K-3 Technology Facilitator.

The Bogalusa City School System is now accepting applications for the position of Principal at Byrd Avenue Elementary School for the 2008-2009 school year.  Minimum qualifications include a master’s degree, valid type A teaching certificate, five (5) years of successful teaching experience, professional training in administration and supervision at the level to be served as principal, and a working knowledge of GLEs and comprehensive curriculum.  Applicants must also meet the minimum requirements as stated in LDE Bulletin 746.

The Bogalusa City School System is now accepting applications for the position(s) of Secondary Math Teachers at Bogalusa City High School for the 2008-2009 school year.  Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree, valid teaching certificate in the certification area of Secondary Mathematics (6-12).  Applicants must also meet any additional minimum requirements as stated in LDE Bulletin 746. 

The Bogalusa City School System is currently the 9th highest paying district in Louisiana.  As an incentive to attract qualified applicants, the Bogalusa City School Board has authorized newly recruited/hired Secondary Math Teachers to receive an extra paycheck equal to one (1) month’s pay at the teacher’s regular wages.  In addition to this incentive, all employees of the Bogalusa City School Board receive three (3) additional pay checks throughout the school year: 1) Sales Tax Excess check in November, 2) Ad Valorem Millage check in March, and 3) Sales Tax Excess check in May.

The Bogalusa City School System is now accepting applications for the position of District Wide Technology Coordinator.  Minimum qualifications include but are not limited to: a valid type A or Level 3 Louisiana teaching certificate, a valid certification area in Educational Technology Leadership, and five (5) years of successful teaching experience.  Applicants must also meet any other minimum requirements for Educational Technology Leadership as stated in LDE Bulletin 746.  Applicants must also have knowledge of district wide technology systems, including E-Rate.  Knowledge of grant writing procedures is also highly desired.
