READING CHALLENGE & READING FAIR

The Reading Challenge will take place Thursday, October 1, 2026 through Thursday, March 25, 2027. March was selected as the ending month of the challenge, because it serves as National Reading Month. The Reading Challenge entails students in grades Pre K through 12 selecting and reading their favorite on grade level or above grade level book in order to summarize the book by creating a poster presentation. The book poster presentations will be shared and displayed at the district's First Annual Reading Fair on Thursday, March 25th in the BHS library or BHS main gym. The Reading Fair Committee consisting of district and community leaders will judge the book poster presentations and select the winners for each of the following competition levels:

  • LEVEL 1- Early Childhood- Pre K and K

  • LEVEL 2- Primary- Grades 1 and 2

  • LEVEL 3- Intermediate- Grades 3 through 5

  • LEVEL 4- Middle School- Grades 6  through 8

  • LEVEL 5- High School- Grades 9 through 12

Reading Challenge winners will earn prizes, including a Video Game Truck experience. More information will be shared with Principals and School Support Leaders during the upcoming October Principal PLC Meeting and PLC Meeting for Assistant Principals, Curriculum Coaches, Counselors, and Disciplinarians.
