On October 30th, we will have our quarterly Positive Behavior Intervention & Support Event, Trunk or Treat.
We are asking that anyone who would like to donate a bag of candy or two bring them to the school. If you are an organization or a church and would like to participate in the Truck or Treat event, please contact the school. We'd love to have you!

National Food Service Worker Day is celebrated annually on September 25th to honor individuals in the food service industry, though its official origin and founder are not widely known. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the day recognizes the front-line roles that food and beverage workers play in customer service within restaurants, cafeterias, and other food service establishments.
The food service industry is a significant part of the U.S. economy, and the workers are crucial for its smooth operation.
These workers provide essential services, from taking orders, preparing food, serving guests, and maintaining cleanliness.
We are proud to have the BEST of BEST working in the cafeteria at Byrd Ave. Primary School!
Thank you all for what you do, Rev. Self, Mrs. Sandra, Mrs. Yolanda, and Mrs. Fallon!
We love you and appreciate you so much!

September 15th -October 15th is Hispanic Heritage Month
Hispanic Heritage Month starts on September 15th to coincide with the independence days of several Latin American countries, including Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. This mid-September date was chosen to honor these historic national independence anniversaries, which all fall on or around September 15th.
It is a special time for kids to learn about the vibrant cultures and histories of people with roots in Spain, Mexico, Central and South America, and the Caribbean. It's a chance to honor the significant contributions Hispanic and Latino people have made to the United States through art, food, music, and their integral role in shaping the nation. Kids can celebrate by reading books, trying traditional foods, listening to music, exploring countries, and watching movies that showcase these rich cultures and traditions.
