Bogalusa High School Track Booster Club
We are asking all former track athletes, parents, coaches, business leaders, teachers, bus drivers, friends, city workers, citizens and well-wishers of BHS Track to come out and get involved in something great! Let's try to save some of our youth.

We will hand out plans for the ‘24 track season at BHS, including the city and the parish. We need your advice, your input and your support in our endeavor. We have several meets scheduled in Bogalusa at the BHS Track Stadium: 3/7/24, 3/21/24, and 4/11/24. We will need your help to run these meets! Finally, I would like to see us organize a Washington Parish Track and Field Youth League. Contact me any time; my contact information is below.

✨ Celebrating Black History Month! 🌟
A. Z. Young (October 31, 1921 – December 1, 1993) was an African-American civil rights and organized labor activist. In 1972, he became the first black to head a state agency in Louisiana. Young was born in Bogalusa, Louisiana. Young founded and directed the Bogalusa Voters League, which, on August 19, 1967, led a massive march from Bogalusa to Baton Rouge, a distance of ninety-five miles, and culminated in an emotional rally on the steps of the state capitol.

Mrs. Lisa Jackson's JAG classes are completing a career research project. Each student chose a career of interest. They researched the career and were tasked with creating a slide show given particular details to include. A culminating activity will be a presentation to their classmates.
Please join us for our first Family Literacy Night, Monday, February 5, 2024 at 5:30 pm, in the BHS Library. Reading is the key to our students success. We will discuss strategies on how parents can assist their children in excelling in reading. Refreshments will be served.
BCS had an excellent professional development day on Friday. We also participating in National Wear Red Day to raise awareness about heart disease. We thank the Bailey Education Group, Edgear/JCampus, and all the schools for their incredible sessions.

BHS held its College and Career Fair, where students in grades 9-12 were provided the opportunity to speak with a combined twenty represented colleges, careers, and military branches. It was an extraordinary event, as our students received some valuable information to aid them in planning for their post-secondary plans.
